The Applecado Blog
To be honest, our 15th birthday didn’t just creep up, it swung up and almost took us by surprise. It doesn’t feel like that long since we were in lockdown and looking back over our first decade in business – so it is a very pleasant treat that we get to share this update with you.
We are immensely proud of the fantastic systems, websites and applications we have built in the last 15 years, but having a birthday gave us time to reflect on the non-profit generating good we've done - things that mean more than raising invoices.
We are also humbled by the charitable work we’ve helped to support over the last few years. We get enormous satisfaction from supporting Pens for Kids UK collecting and shipping pens all over the world – putting them in the places they are desperately needed; the cost of a pen can make all the difference to an education.

We like to give to give back to other creative endeavours as well, we have repeatedly supported music festivals and events such as Burghfest (honestly, this is the new Glasto), Forever Stormfest, and this year’s inaugural FriendFest, a 2-day live music event on Brighton beachfront.

To celebrate turning 15, we turn our attentions to another passion as we are proud to invest in our local environment by funding the planting of 15 new trees in the UK. Being a digital agency (although anyone who knows us, will know Nicky maintains a tight grip on pen and paper…), we think it’s important to keep our footprint down and we hope to make things better for future generations.
We learned first hand through our work collaborating with Kingsclere Estates how important rewilding and regenerative agriculture is. We all love being outdoors and in the local countryside, so it just feels right to make an investment in UK woodlands.
We would love it if we inspired you to do the same, there are many planting and re-wilding charities in the UK, and some will happily accept time spent volunteering instead. You might find some of the following links useful*:
